Paramount Plus - uh oh an error as occrred

I've just upgrade to Sky Glass and I get Paramount Plus with my movie subscription but when I try to log in I keep getting the message:

oh-oh. An error has occurred, but we're working on fixing it. We'll be up and running again shortly. Been like this since I got it a few days ago.

I ended up going into Sky app and just creating account online and then it worked on tv.

Have you tried a reboot to see if that clears the issue?

 

1. Go to Settings
2. Go to System Management
3. Press Select
4. Go to Resets and Updates
5. Press Select
6. Go to Restart Device
7. Press Select.

Note this will take a few minutes to reboot, so expect to see a blank screen for 2 minutes until the Sky logo appears as its starting up.

Didn't work. I refreshed the apps and also restarted the device and still the same. 

It's like this on my SkyGlass Tv and also 2 pucks.

I appreciate this is the Sky Glass section and I am a Sky Q customer but I thought my own experience with this error and it's eventual resolution might help others.

 

I had Paramount+ with Sky upgraded from Basic to Standard through the £3 offer from Sky working fine until January 22nd.

 

Then on launching the Paramount+ app on the Sky Q box I got the Paramount+ opening page in German (reported by others, I note) with two options to Activate or Sign On. Tried the sign on and it informed that my Paramount+ account and Sky account were already linked and to finalise with either Continue on TV or Continue on Web. Neither option worked and I saw the dreaded Uh Oh message.

 

After a lot of phone calls to Sky (many thanks to Connie from Retentions who worked tirelessly to help) the problem could be traced back to a billing issue in December with the Basic to Standard upgrade payment not going through despite my having the funds. It had left my subscription status as renewal in progress. With Sky's help I was able to get the Status in Sky MarketPlace for both Basic and Standard Paramount+ as "Ended 30th January 2026". 

Then I was able to go through My Products and request the Basic plan again.

The problems didn't end there though because I believe at the Paramount end of things it still "remembered" the previous linkage with Sky and wouldn't allow to get an account with Paramount (I had used the same email with Sky and Paramount previously) So I tried using alternative emails to create the Paramount account but these also seemed to be "known" to Paramount . 

So I created a totally fresh email account with Proton Mail and used that one to create the Paramount account.

This worked !

 

So to anyone experiencing this problem I would first suggest checking what your Paramount+ subscription status is showing in My Products/Sky MarketPlace and if in error asking Sky support to cancel/reset the status if needed which is what I believed Sky support did for me.

 

Consider creating a brand new email address for Paramount+ when creating the Paramount+ account.
