Last Channel Remain On
My mother in law lives with us & is struggling to use the remote.
She only watches ITV3, is there a way to enable the sky glass gen 2 to always remain on the channel, like we could with Sky Q/mini box?

I'm afraid not. SkyOS will always default to the home screen.

If it's of any use, I bought a Manhattan Aero Freely box for my elderly mother and she gets on well with it. It receives all free to air channels via broadband and can be set to default to opening the last channel playing every time you turn it on (including ITV3), so there's no home screen unless you press a button on the remote. You can channel hop with a simple up/down controller on the remote and there are various apps for catch up content too. It's been very good and is only a one-off payment for the box itself, there are no subscription charges.

@HelenCam Funnily enough a feature to ensure Glass/Stream went directly to a channel when turned on was seemingly started to be rolled out back in Feb ( as a small minoirty of customers seem to have the feature) but it looks like the rollout was paused.
There is a whole thread on it here

Thank you - it is strange they paused it!
it would have made our life so much easier, otherwise the sky glass is perfect for her.

Re: Last Channel Remain On
If it's any help one click to the left will bring up the last viewed channel. Though I think the Manhattan Freely box would be more useful.

Re: Last Channel Remain On
Don't forget recently viewed channels including ITV Three should appear at the top of your homepage when the TV is turned on (So, you don't need to find the channel from scrolling through the TV guide), alternatively you can teach her to hold the microphone button on the remote and say "Play ITV3" and it should take you directly to the channel
My Set up:
Sky Glass Gen 1 + Sky Ultimate TV + Sky Sports + Sky Cinema + Ad Skipping

Re: Last Channel Remain On
Thanks - I tried the microphone trick, err did not go well. It doesn't help, she won't use her glasses.
going to check your first comment, to see if ITV3 is at the top.

Failing that another suggestion I have is to go to Settings / Viewing preferences then Manage favourites. Create a list and when you've done this the default the TV Guide Row on the homepage will show your favourite channels, BUT you can rearrange the order so if you wanted you could put ITV3 at the very front of the list which means it would then always be visible from the homepage.

Re: Last Channel Remain On
Thanks, that is what I have done.
she struggles with the remote, as the circular thing, doesn't show the arrows for up, down, left, right button.
TV is her life now, well ITV3 is
