Of corce but do not need one if your only playing programs by streaming them on ITVX so are not live otherwise no point of using  ITVX.

I was a PC Engineer and fix peoples PCs by going to there house, Windows XP was known to slow down PCs over time and clog up the PCs RAM and its start-up and had to reinstall it for the customer, the only way you could fix WinXP.

I think BBC should now be like Netflix now and we should have a choice to support the BBC or not(most people will support it if they want it) and not faused to pay it because your watching Live TV, Live TV should be free to view by now,, Why call it Freewiew or Freely, it not free to view, I pay a TV Licence because of Sky and do not watch any BBC channels on Sky Stream, I don't even watch the new U channels that were UKTV that are part of the BBC too, like U+Gold, U+Drama, you can't see them on the TV Listing on Sky Steam because I never added them, BBC is to political, ITV is better and independent from the Government, ITV News is better.
I don't like how the BBC is run now and its been stranlged by the TV Licance.
The last time I watched the BBC was Doctor Who and Peter Capaldi was the Doctor.

Peter capaldi was the last good doctor .......

Watching any ITV channel through the ITVX app at the same time as that channel is being broadcast ('live TV') is licenceable activity.  ITV could have chosen not to include that functionality, but actually rather like the BBC receiving Licence Fee funding because they really don't want  another competitor on that scale in the commercial television sector...

Re: Do i need a tv license.

Yes you can have Sky Stream as long as you don't watch live tv channels and use bbc iplayer its up to you.

If you watch live tv on any channel then you need to buy a tv licence.

It's not just live channels , if you watch a live stream on any platform you need to have a TV license.

So for example if you watch live the Champions League on Prime Video, that requires a TV license.

Re: Do i need a tv license.

They should add TV Licance to Sky like how Netflix is and is paid and then you would not have to make shore you have it, Sky has the BBC channels so why not, would make it eaier and you would always be covered by it then and not have to seee if you need it then, and make eaier for people on a low income, I would rather pay it al in one and in one place... 🙂

Re: Do i need a tv license.

I just find the TV Licence weird where you pay Sky to unlock there Live TV channels and then have to have a TV Licence to watch them, it idiotic now, and why it not fit of purpose, but the BBC is under a Royal Charter that part of the TV Licence so its a tax, they need to make there own money now, it will happen when we get the right MP who is willing to do it and take the risk, no one is at the moment.
You would not pay for a streaming Service and have to pay a TV Licence to view it, it like your got Netflix and can't view it without a TV Licence in a way... 🙂 or you pay for Netflix and do not use it but still have to pay for it, I do not watch the BBC or U channels or UGold but I still pay the TV Licence to watch Sky ONE/Sky Atlantic.plus pay Sky for them too, weird.
Just wend now and odd, the TV Licence is about 70 years old.
Anyway... 🙂 Hope you all have a nice day... 🙂

Watching a streaming service with no live content doesn't require a license (apart from iPlayer)

But yes, the current situation is a mess.
