Sky Glass Air Appalling Picture Quality

IMG_5105.jpeg

I am appalled by the quality of the picture on the sky glass air. No TV in 2026 should have a picture as bad as this. What are you playing at Sky. I opted for the air because I didn't want a sound bar. I was not informed that the picture was significantly worse than normal sky glass. This is miss-advertising and miss-selling at its purest.

Blacks that are so pixelated it looks like a graphics from the NES era of gaming!

I want to know what Sky are going to do about this because you've tied customers up in contracts for a sub-standard product that can't even deliver on a basic level.

If Sky don't take responsibility for all the customers they've hoodwinked then I'll definitely be taking it further. Customers have consumer rights after all.

Hopefully you'll take responsibility.

Have you tried going into the settings and adjusting the various picture options?

Of course. It makes no difference really. Having to watch everything on Extra Vivid but that is not a solution. It's clearly a poor quality product. Watched a film earlier and it ruined it for me!

Look at this Halo effect too. Haven't seen this on a TV since I was in uni in 1999!

I'd like to know what Sky are going to do about it. These products should not be on sale.

Do you have a Sky Glass Air? Is this not an issue for you?

@laura140482

Reviews of Glass Air on release suggest it's at least adequate for its price, so it seems likely you've either got a bad unit, the source material is problematic or the set isn't receiving sufficient bandwidth.

For example:

Re: Sky Glass Air Appalling Picture Quality

@laura140482 I suspect no amount of software or bandwidth can improve your Air but hopefully for your sake, I am mistaken.

The picture looks like my second hand eBay Toshiba that's at least 10 years old but is just fine for home office and background news channels. and football.

If you are within the return window, returning it might be an option. Which  TV you can get for a similar price but better quality picture? No idea.

I paid peanuts for my old Toshiba and so I don't complain about its limitations.

Best of luck 🤞

Unfortunately Sky Glass TVs are what you call "budgetTVs" and they are not made for an out standing picture quality but rather for the masses. If you want excellent picture quality that doesn't have blooming then you need to buy an OLED TV or a top of the range LED TV that has good dimming zones @laura140482

They permit cancellation and return of the product in the first month.

A Stream puck can be used with any television set.

Re: Sky Glass Air Appalling Picture Quality

Sorry SKY but it's no from me too. My Skyglass air is proving impossible to calibrate for a decent picture. I've tried implementing settings from online tutorials. Reverting to defaults. And applying my digital image knowledge in the hope of getting a decent picture. It seems to be impossible to achieve the result that any modern TV should be capable of.

The image when viewing off axis is woeful!

I'm still in the cooling off period so it looks like we will be "having a conversation".
