can anyone tell me why sky glass is so rubbish

The most typical issue is that the set isn't receiving adequate and consistent wireless bandwidth: note that this is not the same as internet speed arriving at the address.

No.
as previously mentioned is not dem assails about the broadband speed to the propriety it's about your home network.
there are loads of things that affect the strength of a home WiFi network including disturbances from other nearby networks if they are using the same channel. Your property as well. The thickness of walls and the materials a property is made of will have an affect of how well the WiFi signal can move through walls, equally the position and location of a router in a property makes an impact.
the location of devices like TVs also affects the quality of the signal it may receive. If you have loads of other WiFi enabled devices next to each other and they are all switched on that can cause inteference.
themis the same for any ISP as most send out basic routers, however you can by more premium routers that offer stronger WiFi signals.
