help with physical move of huge sky tv.

hello all, unfortunately, i have a gripe about sky customer service, and the way sky goes about thier business, hopefully i am not in breach of any or all of your tocs, otherwise we stand to lose our right to free speech.

Anyway the situation is this, I have my sky glass tv in storage but have no car to cart it from there to my home address, i asked them if they could help by picking the thing up from storage, it is such a big thing it took two indian guys to deliver and set it up, why can't they do the same thing for someone who asks if they can do it when you ask for a bit of a variation in how they do thier business. They said they could only do the paperwork side of things, and no physical stuff, what is the world coming to?, you would think that with all the knowledge and expertees of delivering things they have sold, it wouldn't be a problem for a  company like this to help a longstanding customer with something like this. I understand why customer service people are customer service people. Back in the day, not so long ago, they would do handstands for you, it seems with this new way of doing things, there is no empathy or understanding of the situation. Anyway, on the positive side, sky tv is a great idea, but there definately issues, with how this company doesn't want to help longstanding customers, it's like the think there is an oppurtunity but we can't do a thing about it or something, sometimes you get hold of some one, and they will do handstands for you. those are few and far between these days. Other wise i will have to carry the things about two or three miles to my new place. if anyone can suggest anything, i have already thought of getting a new one, but financially, it is out of the question for me, I just want to pay ten or twenty quid to get the thing delivered. I already, had to carry some of my stuff, i was confronted by four men of various ages, i of whom just laughed, i take it he laughing at me, the same, bloke i saw in a brighton doorway on a sleeping bag, a few days earlier, it shows what the youth of today is like doesn't it, anyway that is just how i felt at the time, on a better day i would have felt differently. take care.

@robsky007  I'm afraid you expectation are wholly unrealistic.

Sky are not & should ne ever be responsible for moving your furniter (Glass TV) it is your sole responsibility to do this.

Sky would not be insured as a mover to do this.

Sky supply & install Sky Q, or Glass Stream, they deliver through 3rd party companys (they don't delvier this themselves).

Even for Sky Q customers are supposed to move the equipment themselves during their move process.

Well, I know, that's a monkey off my back, as it were. Have a happy new year, if we don't air our grievances, whose ever gonna know, plus we are in great danger of losing our right to free speech, don't you wish Martin Luther King was still alive, the way companies operate now days leaves alot to be desired.

Please minister of something or another fix it, you aren't paid what you are paid to stand in house of commons to try to annoy each other out of there, you are paid to fix people's problems and system drawbacks.

@robsky007 Your posting in a customer helps customer forum, there is nothing to Fix, Sky are not a removal company, you have obviously put the TV  into storage under your own steam so it is up to you to arrange a company to pick it up for you, that company is not Sky..

The rest of your posts are irrelevant to the issue raised.

You're off your rocker mate if you think any Company that you buy off is going to do this for you. Just pay someone to move it for you.

@robsky007

What has free speech or the ethnicity of the people who delivered your TV got to do with anything?

@robsky007

The initial delivery to a customer address is part of the contracted service from Sky: no retail company or their appointed carrier would be responsible for subsequent moves, nor is it their business to help a customer arrange such a move.

There are likely to be moving services available locally to you, but you'll need to pay a realistic amount (particularly if you wish the move to be covered by insurance) or else you'll have to find someone prepared to do it as a favour.

It's a cracking idea though. If I ever move, I'm ringing Amazon. Most of the stuff in my house was bought from them so I'll get them to come and move it.

Hi all,

Can I ask that we all adhere to our Community Rules & Guidelines.  Specifically rules around being nice to eachother.

Sky do not offer a service involving moving a piece of Sky TV equipment from one household to another or to/from a storage unit.

Your feedback and suggestion however is welcome.

Thanks,

Daniel
