I read on Sky that to add Sports to my Sky Glass service, I need to Sky Q. Is that correct, seems odd to add another device when I already have Sky Glass streaming service. Anyone know?

No: what you need is a Sky content subscription on Glass (typically Ultimate TV)
It's possible to use a Glass television for just digital terrestrial television and apps without a Sky subscription, but that cannot then have the Sky Sports add-on.
