Last few days we've had trouble turning on our sky glass tv and have had to reboot by turning off/on at the plug. Today we've now discovered that the music channels -which we use almost everyday just as background - have been slimmed down to 4! We already had way less after switching to sky glass compared to sky q. Are these two linked? Has there been some kind of upgrade (aka downgrade) in the background responsible for both these?

I loved listening to the music channels and it is so unfair that they have been taken away from us

Unfortunately Channel 4 has been hugely impacted by the collapse of the television advertising market, and simply couldn't afford to keep those channels going for a very small audience. Because it's publicly owned, it has a particular responsibility not to waste money in a sector which has largely moved to streaming.

We only now have 4 music channels on stream. Not great

There are a number of music apps and YouTube is full of vevo music😉

Agreed but I like many others like the channels as well.

Over the last 10 years the audience for music channels has gone down ... down ... down ... to the extent they generate little revenue☹️

They also have a number of themed playlists as well ( e.g summer hits ).

Viewers have declined because you get two songs then adverts two songs then more adverts

Unfortunately advertising frequency has to increase (subject to Ofcom limits) as viewer numbers decline because no advertiser is going to pay a high price per showing for delivery to a small audience: it's a vicious cycle.
