Hi, I have Sky q subscription with multi room mini Q box. I wish to replace my non smart tv which is connected to the mini box, with a sky glass TV that I have been given. Is this possible? I currently have sky broadband (40mbps) and Gigaclear full fibre 500mbps in my home so will probably end my sky bb subscription. How do I connect my sky glass TV to my mini box to get full sky tv functionality. Do I need any additional hardware or subscription? Thanks.

Hi @NeilH111
Your mini will connect with any TV with HDMI and so will work as normal with a Sky Glass TV

However, if you currently have a Q multiroom subscription (i.e. main Q box with satellite feeds and mini(s)) then you can simply connect the mini to the Glass via HDMI.
In this situation the Glass TV will simply at as a TV for the mini and no in-built functionality will apply.

Thank you for your feedback. I now have my mini Q box linked to my full fibre broadband router, and my sky glass tv connected to it by hdmi cable. My problem now is that the previous owners account details keep coming on screen. I have done a "turn off, turn on whijst holding the power button" reset, which updated the software, but didn't reset the account memory. Guidance would be appreciated.
secondly, when I do get the sky glass tv working as a normal tv connected to my multiroom mini Q box, would I have to use the sky glass remote to work it? As there doesn't seem to be enough buttons. Or can a Q remote be programmed to work a sky glass tv not running sky glass. Thank you. N.

Hi MightyQuinn,
I had been trying to clear the TV of my sister's info using the tv power button reset, but this just installed the latest software.
I have just performed the Factiry reset as you suggested and got all the right messages along the way until the end when it still made reference to my sister's name and an activation number to link to her account, which is actually closed down.
any suggestions to a harder reset method?
I basically don't want to see any reference to Sky glass as I just want to use the tv connected to my normal Sky satellite Q system and mini Q multi room box. ; a standard Sky subscription not streaming or Sky glass. Thanks in advance.

You need to do a factory reset , then phone sky but that will. Open a can of worms I the because without a subscription to sky glass tv the uhd and the atoms will not work, also means you will have to send your sky q equipment back as you can no have both subscription at the same address as far as I am aware and your sister needs to remove the tv from her sky account as it is registered to her from day 1 by rings sky and telling them she no longer has it .you can only have a sky q subscription or a sky glass, stream subscription not sure how it will work for you, yes you can plug hdmi's in to the back like games consoles and a like but not sure what will happen when you do a factory reset as the number on the back of the tv is registered to your sisters account and it asks you to activate the tv with the on screen pin, if you don't do that then I believe you will just keep getting a blue screen asking you to complete the insulation

Thanks; I'll see what they say. I'll probably just stick with my original TV and sound plinth.
