Suddenly keep getting asked for a PIN to watch SKY news

Hi,

Does anyone know of a reason I'm suddenly being asked (more than once a day) to put a PIN in just to watch SKY news. This PIN request even appears when I'm watching the news. I can't find an answer on here other than it being requested for certain programmes (watershed etc) but I only ever watch the news.

Thanks

Apparently Sky News recently carried a particular pre-recorded item which had a separate age rating: that's not usually the case.

Potentially war related programming with "distressing scenes".

if I remember correctly that happened at times when they had special content when the Ukraine conflict started so very possible the same for the current Middle East issues.
