Right so now I've officially had enough of these Sky remotes and the lack of support from Sky.
Don't get me wrong they have replaced my previous two remotes, but the third time now something seriously needs investigating in regards to these remotes exploding. I can see from my searches on this forum I am not the only one who have had this happen and not for the first time either.
I even mentioned the first time that it happened my toddler had the remote in their hand as it happened and was very lucky it didnt harm them and just scared them with the noise. They weren't bothered in the slightest and had the audacity to basically blame me for dodgy batteries when they were still the ORIGINAL ones.
I am now fed up it has just happened for the third time!

We are all customers here like you. Sky clearly acknowledged that there are issues by having a replacement order form online. I am wondering you have received remotes from the same manufacturering batch? How long has each one lasted? I'm still on my original remote from over 2 years ago so they can make ones that work!
The only suggestion I can make is make a formal complaint to sky as per the info here: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/how-to-make-a-complaint
Link for replacement remote online: https://www.sky.com/help/forms/streaming-tv-remote
Hope this helps

I must be lucky, got sky glass & a puck since they first came out and still have both original remotes

I've had they sky glass roughly 2 years and each remote in that time has gone bang.
I have searched this on the forum and glad I'm not the only one.
Got a new one on route, but surely this isn't normal?
Wouldn't mind it's their batteries they provide that have exploded. Never have them long enough for the batteries to need changing.
I am more annoyed that I lodged a complaint when my little one had hold of it and it was totally brushed off. Apparently not serious enough for Sky to investigate....

I had a single Stream puck for a little over a year. Two remotes failed in that time for no reason whatsoever other than the fact that they are cheaply and poorly made. The third remote was beginning to have random sluggishness in responding so I just gave up and cancelled Sky Stream completely.
I refuse to pay for a service which is so inherently riddled with issues more than two years after it launched.

@Jporch316 Over the last few months there have been a few reports of the batteries exploding in the remotes. I recall one person was actually holding the remote at the time.
Type 'explod" (without the "e" as it will return more results) into the search function 👍

Add me to the list of explosive remotes / batteries - The other week there was a loud pop and me and my husband spent ages looking for what it was until I went to change the TV channel and the remote was wet with battery juice and half the buttons stopped working, opened the battery panel to find that one of the original Duracell batteries had gone pop inside. We have a Harmony remote and a Q remote so hardly use the Sky Stream remote - only when my OH turns the tv on because he likes the simplicity of fewer buttons on the stream remote.
Getting a replacement was super easy via the form and arrived in 2 days, which is great but as so many seem to be going pop theres clearly some issue with either the remote or the batteries used.
I'd assumed the form was for all the other issues with the dead remotes going back years (I found the original twist and fix method way back in 2022!) and that the exploding battery was just one off with us, so im surprised to see so many results on here.
