Slightly late to the party here but i have the same issue, high pitched buzzing noise that starts in the middle of the night (every night) ...and goes away when the tv is switched on. When switching off, the noise stays away until the same time the following night. It started around Dec-24 and is disruptive as the tv is in our bedroom. Can anyone from Sky support with a solution?
Still awaiting a response from some department that it has been escalated to. @Lisa-P1987 maybe u could help with info on how far we are. ?? In meantime sky has put prices up for a product that gives issues!!! Not good business!! Could u all have a check for the following for info. I have wakened thru the night on a few occasions to hear the noise again but it is away In morning when I get up. I think this could possibly just be a noise from daily update to the system.
So i updated the settings as @Mr+Baked+Bean recommended (thank you sir) and woke up this morning to no buzzing! Its only day 1 but something has definitely worked. For clarity, its 'Start up and Standby settings', with all set to Off except 'Networked standby mode' and 'Overnight power saving' which are both set to On. Lets see how long this lasts...
Another update!! Woke up @3:38am as child was up. Sky glass was making the high pitched noise again. It continued for quite a while. I then awoke at 6:30 to get up for work and noise had stopped. This further backs up that the noise is coming from system update on a nightly basis. Still no communication from sky as promised by staff members in this group. If someone would like to tag them
I've gone to the ombudsman and sky rejected my claim to refund what I've paid and take the tv back instead asking for more time which I have rejected as I'm at almost six months now of going backwards and forwards and 3 replacement sets . I received a phone call the night before the deadline to say they have no further update to tell me and will call again in 2 weeks, completely unacceptable now to have been going on so long and the countless calls and messages. It took at least six calls to get someone to look at this thread !
I changed the settings as per my previous post and the annoying loud buzzing stopped. Then a week later a different type of buzzing happened (bit quieter, different pitch) this was on and off for a while and also now the screen occasionally flashes for about 1 second when the tv is off. Don't really notice this, but clearly something going on in the background with the settings. I don't know why its so hard for sky to figure it out..
