Sky glass discovery + comes up with the message upgrade to watch I have tried all the help articles to no resolve

Did you have discovery + before  ? Have you tried  scanning  the  Q R code on your  mobile  phone  and clicked on the  link to take you to the discovery  home page that usually works

No, I didn't have it before. 

 

Yeah, that's how I signed up, with the QR link and activation code. It says I'm signed in and on My Sky in the Marketplace it says I have Discovery +. I can sign in on my TV but when I go to watch anything it says I need to upgrade and the basic plan is £3.99 a month. 

 

I thought the basic plan was free for Sky Glass customers?

Ok did you have a code to put in ? I have seen other people  with the same problem  after  you scanned  the Q R code  on the tv and opened  the link on what ever  device  you  were using  to go to the  website  did you close the  app before putting  the  code in because when i did it i left the app open and when i put the code in it activated  the app on my tv and logged  me straight  in and did not ask me for any payment, i only did this on the 25th of last month  when setting  up  my apps on my gen 2 sky glass tv  i was already  setup  on the apps on my gen 1 sky glass tv  and my puck don't  know  if that would me any differents , just my experience

I scanned the QR on my phone, went to the website, kept the app open on the TV, typed the code on the TV into my phone. It signed me straight in on the TV but it won't let me watch anything. I can see all the shows but when I press on any of them it just tells me to upgrade my subscription to the basic discovery plus package. When I look at my Sky account it says im already subscribed to the Discovery plus basic package. So bizzare.

Ok not sure what is happening  there perhaps  you need to contact  sky  about  it and see if they can help  you

I'm looking for a chat function or email address but it's almost impossible to find contact information. Everything just points to a phone number (only open during the day, I work nights, I know not their problem), Sky community or help pages.
