Sky Glass
Hi
Can any one recommend a WiFi booster for my dads sky glass tv? we have had an absolute nightmare since October last year, which has involved sky trying to charge me £948 for new WiFi box and therefore the account being with a "back room" team to try and sort out, however the problem still continues so I'm trying to solve it myself (process of elimination)! I would be so appreciative as my dad has dementia and it's driving him MAD! any advice would truly be appreciated, I should note I've done all the usuall restore settings, knock on and off as we have spoke to several engineers over the phone (nothing has been successful) but apparently they don't have engineers to come out any longer!!!
Thank you All

Re: Sky Glass
Which Sky broadband product do you have and what is your speed to your house?
How far is the router from the Glass TV?
Can you do a network speed test on your Sky Glass TV.
Launch Netflix on the Sky Glass Tv (you do not need to be logged into it, if you do not use netflix) and scroll down the left menu to Get help.
Choose Check Network.
Would suggest running the test a few times, say a few minutes between tests.
What is your speed?
Another thing that make it all a lot easier, is consider connecting an ethernet cable from the Sky Glass TV to the router.
Sky Stream with two pucks (Former Sky Q and Sky+ customer), Sky Ultrafast + using Sky SR203 hub. Sky Protect kit tester.

Re: Sky Glass
@Hayley147 If your router is not in the same room as Glass buying Powerline adapters would be a cheaper solution. You plug one in near your router via ethernet cable, the other by the Glass TV via ethernet cable. (Turn off WiFi in the Glass settings if you do go this way).
If course if your router is in the same room as Glass you just need an ethernet cable, which is cheaper still.
Glass is really better connected via ethernet. Much better stability.

Re: Sky Glass
@Hayley147 If you do connect via ethernet go into Settings and ensure WiFi is turned off and Networked Standby mode is On.

Just to add to this. Its usually advisable to perform a restart after changing these settings as some of the settings seemingly don't apply until system startup.
1. Go to Settings
2. Go to System Management
3. Press Select
4. Go to Resets and Updates
5. Press Select
6. Go to Restart Device
7. Press Select.
Note this will take a few minutes to reboot, so expect to see a blank screen for 2 minutes until the Sky logo appears as its starting up.
