Sky Glass and Ultimate reinstatement
Hello
I'd just like to say that I'm very disappointed with Sky.
I cancelled my 65" Sky Glass on 19 May within my cooling off period. There were a few issues for the cancellation. Collection is due this Saturday.
However, I decided earlier today that I wanted to keep the Sky Glass and package.
I phoned customer services and they can not over ride the collection. I have to tell AIT/Panther I am keeping the tv when they arrive (or when they phone me). Wasting their time and mine.
Sky also can not reinstate my tv package until after they report that they did not collect the tv. So, I think I will just let them take it.
Surely, Sky can cancel the collection.

Re: Sky Glass and Ultimate reinstatement
Can you ring AIT yourself and cancel the collection? That's what I'd do seeing as though Sky aren't much help.
It is odd that Sky can't cancel it. You would think they'd be bending over backwards to help a customer stay with them.

Thanks for the reply.
I've found a phone number for AIT, which I'll try tomorrow, but you would think they'd be able to sort it at their end.

Re: Sky Glass and Ultimate reinstatement
I'm not disagreeing with you. I think there's enough time for them to cancel the request given it's only Tuesday.
I wonder if maybe it's worth giving Sky one more call and seeing if a different member of staff can help you? Sometimes you can get two different answers to the same question because not all staff are at the same level knowledge wise. Not being unkind, just truthful!

Re: Sky Glass and Ultimate reinstatement
An update.
I contacted AIT via live chat and cancelled the collection. Very easy as only took a few minutes.
Then phoned Sky to reinstate everything.
Nope, the credit agreement has now been cancelled (it hadn't yesterday when I phoned), so the tv has to be picked up, but I could order another tv though.
Contacted AIT again to reinstate the delivery, but they can't once a delivery is cancelled.
Phoned Sky again, but the collection is still on their system, so I have to wait until Saturday to see if AIT show up. When they don't, I have to phone Sky again to rebook the collection.
So, I'll wait until the final bill is sorted and decide then if I want to try again. But I think it's unlikely.

What a farce. Computer systems have made companies more inflexible in many ways. If computer says no then it can't be done!

@Ajay63 Don't forget to factory reset the TV and take plenty of photos and maybe a video of it working before you reset it, just in case of damage disputes at a later date.

Re: Sky Glass and Ultimate reinstatement
@Ajay63 while I don't know what the issues were why you returned the Glass, I would certainly suggest looking at other TVs.
I understand that Sky's financing is attractive, but there might be better TVs out there for similar or not much more money.
In 2024 I purchased a 2023 model Samsung OLED 65" with free sound bar & wireless subwoofer for less than £900 directly from Samsung's website.
Admittedly my set up is not the all in one wireless solution of Glass, but I suspect the picture quality and sound is a little bit better than the Glass- and it was cheaper too 😁
1000/115 FTTP (Aquiss) to Zyxel DX3301
3 x Asus XT9s + 2 x RT-AC58U V3 for WiFi (AP mode)
65" Samsung S92C OLED TV
C430 Samsung soundbar with subwoofer
6 other streaming TVs
43+ network connected devices

Re: Sky Glass and Ultimate reinstatement
There were a few issues such as the USB socket that can't play media from external sources.
I ordered the wrong size really, 55" would have been better in my flat and I had trouble sorting the picture. As for the picture, I read about setting it up and I did get a really good picture sorted. I also love the sound from the speakers.
But, yes, I agree with you about getting a tv elsewhere although I would have to save up for it. This is probably what I'll do.
I currently have a 40" Hisense tv and a Panasonic soundbar.

Re: Sky Glass and Ultimate reinstatement
@Ajay63 Sky is fantastic at marketing... so you can get a 55" Glass @ £19 pm with £20 up front.. but that is £932 😯
Just Googled cheapest OLED 55" tv and this came up.... John Lewis have a 2024 LG model for £649 which includes a 5 year warranty... just saying 😉
OLEDs are not for everyone, and again Google offered up a TCL with 300 dimming zones and 1300 nits (that's bright) @ £499... again just saying 😉
I am sure you could hook up either TV to your current soundbar.
If you don't mind a used 1st Gen Sky Glass... look on ebay... there are some allegedly opened and not used TVs but you will have to collect yourself.
Personally, I would not pay more than £250 for one and even then.... 🤔

Re: Sky Glass and Ultimate reinstatement
I wouldn't have a Sky Glass gen 1. Tried that and it went back after about two days.
Thanks for your suggestions, but I'll sort one out. Not in a huge rush now, so might wait a bit.

Re: Sky Glass and Ultimate reinstatement
Just to let you know.
I'm still waiting for Sky to sort out a return date.
Supposedly getting a call back on Thursday when they have hopefully sorted the issue.
I won't hold my breath.
