Sky Glass showing not connected after being turned off

Had Sky Glass for about 2 months now, setup etc was fine and was over Wi-Fi.

Most mornings when the TV is turned on it will display not connected to the internet, i decided to hard wire it instead, and i know this method and cable is fine as taken out of my PS5 and used in the TV instead. The same issue still happens.

When i go to check network it will show as connected via ethernet and connected to interent. Usually takes a reboot of the router to kick it in, but all other devices connected to internet are fine and do not disconnect (ring doorbell, phones, PS5, Roku sticks in other TV's) ..

Steps taken so far to try and resolve:

Use Wi-Fi, including splitting 2.4 GHz and 5 GHZ

Turned off Wi-Fi and using etherent, tried alternate cables and also alternate router

Factory reset TV and started from scratch

Turned off tv sleeping from network

Feel like i've done more than the above but these are what spring to mind.

Any help is appreciated, i can't be the only one that's experienced this.

Thanks,

Simon

Hi @Si_1987

Who is your ISP? There have been issues with EE and their DNS service following a software update that resulted in my having very similar issues for nearly 3 months. Relaxing hubs etc not helped. Eventually loading trial software to my router has restored stability.

Reading your posting, one thing you have not mentioned doing, that we recommend is the following settings;

Change your Sky Glass TVs and any pucks to the following recommended settings set in Settings>
Set Network standby mode to ON and Overnight power saving to OFF.

Plus, I see you have mentioned, but do make sure you turn wifi OFF under Network if connected via ethernet.

Once you have made the above changes, do a settings restart straight after, this will ensure the settings are set correctly.

Go to Settings>Systems Management>Resets & Updates
Select Restart device
Your Sky Glass TV a and Stream pucks will perform a reboot. It will take a few minutes to complete.

Re: Sky Glass showing not connected after being turned off

Hi Mike,

ISP is BT, router is TP-Link X50. Latest firmware is loaded and I've rolled it back 2 versions so 3 tried in total. Also switched out for a Draytek Vigor model, again tested 3 firmware levels on this and no joy, this has been over a 3-4 week period.
My job is in the communications and tech sector so I have a solid understanding of ISP's and routers etc which is why I went down that path first, safe to say the issue is not with my ISP or internal network.

thanks for the advice though mate, all suggestions welcome.

Re: Sky Glass showing not connected after being turned off

Thanks,

I have indeed tried your suggestion, more than once, as I found those answers when searching this issue.
Unfortunately it hasn't changed a thing, the issue remains.
No pucks in the house so only the TV to worry about here.
Sometimes it's fine for a day or two and then all of a sudden 'no connection' when you turn it on, sometimes it's daily multiple times.

thanks for your response.
