Constantly having issues with Sky Glass cutting out, sound dropping and the broadband/ wifi dropping signal. Do all the checks and nothing ever seems to be wrong.
Turned 5ghz off on the router which has helped reduce the frequency (no pun intended) of interruptions and also had the Glass software rolled back.
But it's just getting worse again and it's at the point where the services aren't fit for purpose. Working from home is now being affected by the broadband dropping out.
Rebooting the router and the TV works to get back up and running for a bit longer.... But you shouldn't have to do that a couple of times a day.
Looking at the amount of people having similar issues - Sky really needs to get it's act together.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreGlass & broadbvand issues you reported are 2 seperate issues, have you reported the broadband dropping to Sky?
Having these kind of issues with broadband will ultimately affect your Glass experience
How is Glass connected to the router, are you abloe to use ethernet? What broadband speeds ae you running at?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Viki+F I managed to cure my network dropouts but amending my settings. I changed the "Network standby mode" to ON. This is found under Start up & standby menu.
Whilst in that menu I would also turn everything else OFF as I found that stopped a number of issues and at the end of the day you don't really need any of them.
It's worth a try. Good luck

Both issues reported. No faults found on whatever checks are carried out and done the software rollback on the Sky glass as per the instructions given on one of the calls. Can't hook up to ethernet as the router is at the opposite side of the room and the TV has been wall mounted/ cables hidden.
Haven't had any issues up until the past month or so.

You can still use wired ethernet if TV is in a different room to router
2 options
Option 1
1) Get a gigabit switch 5 or 8 ports and run a Cat 6 or Cat 7 ethernet cable to router
You can then use the ports on switch to connect devices by wired ethernet
Use length of Cat 6 or Cat 7 cable required to reachthe router
You might need to drill a hole in wall to pass through the ethernet cable
Option 2
2)Get a powerline kit
Powerline kits use your electrical sockets to send broadband
You connect main powerline to router and then use the other powerline adaptor in a different room
It's important to follow the instructions with powerline kits in regards how to use correctly
Powerline kits performance can vary a lot depending on quality of electrical wiring in your home
Connecting direct to router or using a switch to extend lan ports is always the better option
Wifi is subject to a lot of vaired factors in homes and some devices that use wifi will perforn different to other devices
Wifi performance can also vary a lot at different times of the day and is subjet to interference
Wired Ethernet is always the better option if you can use this with device as you don't the the interference issues that Wifi can cause
Also important is what is type of broadband you getting from your ISP and the download and upload speed from your ISP is enough to use with Sky Glass/Sky stream and enough for using Sky Glass/Sky stream same time with other devices that will be using your broadband connection
