Sky Glass Air turns itself on from standby for a few seconds

I have the glass air and for some reason it keeps turning on for a few seconds then turns off again.
The screen is black and the backlight is on but nothing else appears and it is only for a couple of seconds.
I have just unplugged it for a couple of minutes to see that helps but just wondered if anyone else had the same issue.

Re: Sky Glass Air turns on then off every 30 minutes

@gr1340 Is motion activation turned off in the settings?

I have a vague memory of someone saying it did this after an update. Is it happening often?

Re: Sky Glass Air turns on then off every 30 minutes

The air doesn't have motion activation like the normal glass

Re: Sky Glass Air turns on then off every 30 minutes

@gr1340 Fair enough. Wasn't aware of that.

Is this turning on and off happening frequently though? I remember on my Gen One that it would do the same from time to time but it would only be once, then not happen again for a while.

Re: Sky Glass Air turns black every 30 minutes

Whoever updated the subject has got it wrong.

The TV is in standby and it turns ON for a few seconds. The screen is black but the backlight is on, after a few seconds, it turns OFF and back into standby.

Hi @gr1340

Welcome to the Sky Community, and thanks for sharing your post.

It was myself who amended the title, based on the information provided initially. I hadn't realised that the TV was on standby when this happens, so I've modified the title again 👍

Thanks

Re: Sky Glass Air turns itself on from standby for a few seconds

Morning.

It happens at least every hour, I initially thought it was HDMI CEC related as it was connected to my AVR but I disconnected that a few days ago and it still happens.

Hi @gr1340

Can you advise if you see any on-screen messages when this happens?

To enable us to understand the problem better, can you test switching off this feature and let me know how you get on?

Thanks

Re: Sky Glass Air turns itself on from standby for a few seconds

No messages, just a completely blank screen for a couple of seconds.

I will try turning off voice control and report back.

Re: Sky Glass Air turns itself on from standby for a few seconds

We had this happening last night on our Sky Glass Air, screen would flash really bright (thought it was lightening outside initially) then screen backlight would turn on for about a second (nothing on the screen) then would go off again. Seemed to do it every 5 minutes or so. Restarting device did not solve it so powered off in the end. On software build version QS038.003.00P.

have turned the microphone off and see how it is tonight, suspect won't notice it again until room is dark.

Morning @gr1340 @DarrenB7

Have you seen the issue since switching that feature off?
