Re: Sky Glass 2.0 Launch Details
@OMGADRAGON Little harsh there to say the least. I came in to this forum to contribute as wanted to see what the benefeits of Gen 2 where. So far i see none and see it as over priced tosh. They claim better HDR but what is the 100% window nits value and the 10% window nits value/ Where are the actual facts to back up the alledged improvements. Plus at the end of the day its LCD panel. Yeah sure finance is a motivation for many, speaking from experience probably not the best idea but if its the only way it can be done then a 10 minute google search found me an OLED TV's for less then Glass. From what i can see all Sky are doing is buying 2-3 year old tech from a chinese factory on the cheap, repackaging it and selling it to there customers whom either know no better or who believe they have no other choice. As for it being interest free, that mey be true on paper but SKy are getting there monies worth i bet they are making 50-60% profit on each unit. In fact i have seen TVs that would compete with this for £200 in supermarkets and Soundbars for £100

Re: Sky Glass 2.0 Launch Details
@OMGADRAGON calm yourself because I didn't just grab a grand out of thin air geezer.
Your words were "if you cannot afford to pay out a grand of a TV setup." to which I reasonably and respectfully pointed out you're not getting much for 1000 quid on that front.
You're wrongly putting it on me that I'm on a crusade against Sky Glass when the truth is I'll advise anyone and everyone against getting a budget bog standard TV every bit as much as against getting a Sky Glass TV.
When you factor in how much time the average household spends sat on their couch in front of the TV, to me it only makes sense to spend a few bob on it
I am far from alone in my belief that Sky Glass televisions don't offer good value for that price point. Though that said if someone is struggling that much that the only way they can afford a 600 quid TV is to get it on tick over 4 years then I'm going to be skating on the thinnest of ice whatever I say.
I made a point of saying I'm glad you're happy with it and there's no need to be disagreeable but it seems to have fallen on deaf ears so I'll sign off there, tschüß tschüß.

Re: Sky Glass 2.0 Launch Details
Mate I don't agree on many levels you talk about.
I'm not bothered. Keep preaching and do what you do.
Hit me up if you want to discuss,.I'll debate with you 1-2-1.
But you won't. Because you're cool.... And all that...

Re: Sky Glass 2.0 Launch Details
@OMGADRAGON I do not know if you are yalking to me or @Chasloyal but both of us merely presented facts. It is true you can get as good for £200 from a supermarket or for teh same price even better (OLED) on finance. The point of forums is to learn from others experience and knowledge. You can either do that or call people who go against what you want to hear loser or say you do not respect there opinion but unfortunately in these situations you will be the one missing out. Anyway i hope that in 4 years time you will still be enjoying your Gen 2

Re: Sky Glass 2.0 Launch Details
Hahaha,
I'm the one enjoying my purchase.
You two are here, apparently enjoying your ££££ systems, that far better quality of sky glass...
Yet.. you are encouraging people away from it??
(removed)
I cannot grasp what is going on.
Moderator note: Can we please be nice to each other.

Re: Sky Glass 2.0 Launch Details
I'm enjoying my purchase, as is many other people.
I am sorry you cannot enjoy yours.
As clearly you need to express yourself else where in forums like these to make yourself feel better.
How sad.
That is me done.
Like most who enjoy their purchase, don't car what you say.
Cheers.

Re: Sky Glass 2.0 Launch Details
@OMGADRAGON There is really no need for that both of us have expressed our hope that you enjoy your purchase and all we have done is explain that there are far better purchase options available to people for less or the same amount of moeny should they want a new TV (unsure where you get the idea we are ecouraging people to spend ££££££££'s as you put it). As for my own happiness i am very happy, all 3 TVs in my house are OLED with 120hz for gaming and my personal PC literally could not be any better. All i was trying to do was explaonm to others that there are better options available, I am really sorry you are unable to understand that, maybe oneday someone will figure out a way to help you understand. Anyway so far you have called other posters Losers, been disrespectful towards fellow community member and in general very toxic. I wont engage in conversation with you again, not worth the time
One last thing you said are you sure you aren't menatally stable, i am pretty sur you need to rethink that insult but yes i am mentally stable, thank you

Re: Sky Glass 2.0 Launch Details
I wish someone could point me to shop where I can get a Sky Glass Gen 2 equivalent TV for £200. A side by side comparison between Gen 2 and a £700 Philips 55" show the Sky Glass better in every department for me.
Sky Stream since launch with Philips 55" Mini LED. Sky Glass Gen 2 55" now added.

Well apparently we're not meant to post details of where you can get comparable or superior products for less in here.
All I'll say is that a very quick nosey on one of the obvious destinations for electricals harvests all sorts of 55" televisions with very similar specs for literally half the price of the 55" Sky Glass Gen 2.
I'm talking Samsung's and LG's too, not just the less prestigious brands, though if you're prepared to go that route.....
You can get a 55" Hisense mini LED with 120 Hz up to 144 Hz refresh rate that supports both Dolly Vision and HDR 10+ and has a couple of HDMI 2.1 ports for 150 quid less.
So with due respect you can't have been looking that well because I came up with that within 60 seconds of having a search.

I have just done a side by side comparison with a 55" Philips Mini LED and the Gen 2 is better in all areas IMO. I am not a gamer so refresh rates are not a consideration for me. On picture depth, clarity and colour and sound, the Gen 2 is noticeably better.
