Setting up 2nd hand glass

Hi,

Ive been given a sky glass by a friend which I have factory reset. Today I have taken out a sky streaming account with Sky ultimate tv Netflix and sky cinema. I have a puck being delivered tomorrow so thats not set up yet. I'm trying to link my sky account to the glass I have been given and after linking it to my account it won't go on to the next stage and is stuck on the "let's link your account" screen. Will I have to wait till the luck comes tomorrow and I have set everything up before I'm able to get my sky services on the glass?

@Oliviaschofield  To link a second hand device you will need to contact sky directly as only they can link it

best to wait for the puck and get that setup and working first

Re: Setting up 2nd hand glass

Thank you I will wait for the puck! I have noticed the sky glass is listed under my devices on my MySky app so does this mean it's linked?

thanks for your reply

@Oliviaschofield  A customer cannot link a second hand device themselves as the serial number of the tv hasn't been registered yet as only sky do this

Hi @Oliviaschofield the following link will hopefully be of interest as it details the procedure to follow when setting up a second hand Glass TV or stream puck.  https://www.sky.com/help/articles/buying-sky-glass-second-hand

@Oliviaschofield  You would also need the Whole Home sub to be able to use both the Glass TV and the puck.

Out of interest do you see on your Glass TV the TV guide and the relevant channels for your subscription?

As looking at the link posted by @Fothergill1  if the puck is already showing on your account then adding the extra device should work without calling Sky.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

Re: Setting up 2nd hand glass

Thank you for your replies. My pick is only being delivered today that I've taken the subscription out with so nothings active as of yet until that's set up. I was jumping ahead thinking I'd be able to access my subscription straight away with the glass so hopefully ones the picks set up then it should activate on the glass also fingers crossed

I added a second hand glass tv to my existing account about 18 months ago via the setup process on the tv. As others have said I already had an existing subscription with another glass set and two pucks (with whole home) at the time
