I have had Sky Glass for about a year now, and I'm finally fed up with it. The CW rail is a constant problem being unable to delete the random programmes that show up, I have to reboot it often, the live sport is more behind than I would have expected and the list goes on and on.
So I spoke to Sky about reverting to Q. I was advised this could be done if I paid for the Miniboxes I needed (£50 each) and the cost was about what I pay now (keeping the Sky Glass actual TV). Fine OK!
I was then told (by Fabio who was in fairness very helpful) my TV service would be cancelled immediately and he had no idea when an engineer could be assigned???? Sorry. So you're going to cut my service and give me no indication of when an engineer can come out. Could be 2 weeks with absoluetly nothing. How can that possibly be? Apparently they have to cease everything and then re-order. So now effectively it has set me off looking elsewhere. What on Earth has happened to Sky? Where is the service. I'm unhappy, I spend over £100 a month and I've been a customer for 13 years.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@DJS19801995 unfortunately what you have been told is correct
sky are reducing the number of engineers in preparation for a permanent switch to streaming so lead time for an engineer visit has increased as a result

It does seem utterly daft that a streaming TV subscription has to be cancelled completely before a new Sky Q order can be placed. It's one of those nonsensical IT issues that does nothing but cause irritation to customers.
@DJS19801995 - the only thing I can suggest is getting a temporary subscription to NOW if there are Sky specific programmes you don't want to miss out on whilst you wait for a Sky Q installation.
If you have a smart TV or a dedicated streaming device such as a Firestick, Roku, Apple TV or Android TV box, you can stream live free to air channels via apps on there, as well as anything from Sky via the NOW app. You can get monthly subscriptions for each element of Sky via NOW, be it Entertainment, Cinema or Sports. You can also add UHD/HDR & Atmos with the Ultra Boost subscription too.
