sky are under no legal obligation to replace with a brand new unit the position is when a set is replaced the replacement legally has to be of equivelant condition to the goods returned so can be from refurbished stock.

How old was the TV when it required replacement?

There's no chance you'd get a new TV after that period .... unless you'd paid for new for old insurance!

Also I bought a glass tv didn't work properly kept switching off thy sent a new I thought tv but it was a refurbished tv this now has a grey vertical line 2" wide just rang them & thy said out of warranty as 2 years old Tv could be lot older as refurbished
thy said I can buy another TV from them!
all that will be happening is I will cancel my sky tv phone & internet when I find another provider

The line may disappear if you pull the plug for a few minutes then plug back in

Give it a try but if it doesn't resolve the issue or if it keeps coming back you should call Sky for additional troubleshooting and if necessary another replacement TV (assuming it is still within its 24 month warranty. Like most warranties, the 24 months starts from the date of the purchase of your first Glass TV and not when they gave you the replacement.).
