if we watch a show on paramount plus the next time I turn the tv on (can even be next day) the audio from the show is playing on the Home Screen. As soon as I open another app it stops.

Not happing when tested for me. Tried opening paramount up and playing the agency, putting the TV into standby and waiting a few minutes and turning it back on.
Also tried opening paramount, playing the agency and quitting using the back button and then putting the TV standby, waiting and then turning back on.

But not seeing this issue on either of my Sky Stream pucks, doing I think as you describe;
Watching Paramount + and returning to it at another time from the Homepage tile, from when the Puck has turned back on many hours later or the next day.
I never exit the apps, just hit Home, so making it easy to return next time from the Homepage tile.

Played, pause, exit, then played the episode again with no issue using the Paramount+ plus tile on homepage.
I pause programmes a fair bit often on Paramount+ often, so that is not new to me and never had a problem that I can recall.
It also does a pause when in the app, you do a voice switch when within the app to switch to a live channels and then return back to the app.

It's proving to be a pain as I was watching CSI and then my 10year old put the tv on and it's not great for him to hear.

Have you tried exiting the paramount plus app when you have finished using it I.e keep pressing the back button until it exits and goes back to the Sky Home Screen rather than pressing the home button to return to the Sky Home Screen

Yeah have done this now hopefully it sorts itself out
