Tried rebooting the puck? Turn it off at the wall for a minute then power back on.

Yup - tried that - worked one of the times. Still not ideal. Could a new puck help of is this common?

Yeah, perhaps a new one would be worth requesting. Make sure you have network standby mode turned on - this will stop the puck having to search for a WiFi network every time it turns on.

That depends on if the puck is faulty. The way to prove this is to connect it via ethernet cable and disable the WIFI (this is usually the same steps Sky Customer Services would ask you to perform anyway if you report this issue),

When connecting via ethernet, ensure the Wifi is disabled in the puck's settings (otherwise it will default back over to the Wifi).

The sky stream puck works differently that most other internet connected devices and is essentially always communicating with the Sky servers. This means that it starts to misbehave at any point that the minimum recommended speed of 30 MBPS isn't met. Rather annoyingly if there is a short few milliseconds WIFI dropout ( which can be common due to interference and other factors but you won't tend to notice it on most devices), it will essentially crash the Glass/Stream puck, which is why the reboot fixes it (until it happens again).
