@Borthwen9 When I get this problem I simply reboot by puck (Glass in your case)

 

To do this just go to Settings > System Management > Resets & Updates > Restart device.  It takes about 3 minutes to completely reboot. You will have a blank screen for a couple of minutes before the Sky logo appears so don’t be concerned when this happens.

 

I appreciate this is not a permanent fix for the issue but it gets you going again (until the next time) whilst Sky fix the issue.

Black screen Sky Glass

My Sky Glass screen goes black, mainly in the morning, after a while it works ok. 
Screen goes black but sound is ok. 
We reset it 4 or 5 times & it eventually starts working ok. 
We have to go through this process daily. 
Can anyone help??

@Blue+Dog Unfortunately I know as much as you and that is Sky are aware and are trying to resolve the issue.  My Puck had been very stable and trouble free until a couple of weeks ago when I started to get the Waiting to load message.  Sometimes it will load after a few seconds but if not a reboot is the only solution that seems to work.  Certainly not ideal but it only takes a couple of minutes and I take it as an opportunity to make a coffee.

 

If I want to reboot quicker I just unplug it for a couple of seconds and then plug it in again. This is a quicker process than doing it through the Settings menu.

@AmangaG Sadly, many like you are experiencing the same issue. Sky are aware, it is a software related issue but there is no timescale for a fix. 

 

All you can do is fill in the form when you have the problem or ring Sky and add to their logs that way.

For some, a normal reset helps to clear the issue for a time, either by the restart option in settings or by unplugging the TV. 

 

For others, like myself, only a factory reset will clear it for a time. A factory reset is something that Sky advise should only be done with them though in case of issues re-setting the TV back up. 

 

It's something that is affecting gen one and gen two TV's and seems to have only started since the latest update was launched.

I wonder if maybe there's a way to edit the thread title into a more accurate title that reflects the black screen/programme failing to load issue due to the number of threads that are being posted and merged into it?

Just putting this out there... Wouldn't the quickest fix for the issue be for Sky to roll back the update? Then they can figure out what has gone wrong, fix it and then send the patched update back out.

For such a widespread issue, that there is no tangible grasp of when it will be sorted, this seems the msot logical thing to do. The sending out of the form and the questions being asked on it tells me they currently have absolutely no idea what is causing it - Which isn't exactly reassuring! Writing this from my blank screen on bank holiday Monday!

@5PRX It does seem logical but that update was the one that fixed the sync issues that had been plaguing users for months. We don't see threads or posts about that issue now. I myself hadn't had that problem after getting a Gen Two TV before the last update but had it frequently on my Gen One. 

 

Also, it's only us users that seem to be suggesting it's only occurred since the last update but there's been no official confirmation from Sky. If the update is rolled back, the problem still occurs and then the speech is out of sync, that makes the situation even worse.

Not loading

My sky glass has not been loading for over a week now! I keep resetting it, unplugging it and resetting WiFi.

 

i have done everything needed and it's still messing up!!

 

getting very frustrated now!
