Last few days, technical fault with channel, disney plus etc works.

As above, despite resetting etc.

wifi speedtest is 470mb so not the issue... other devices work fine. Can't watch any channels - anyone else experiencing this?

Sky Glass Technical Fault AM

Hello, 

 

So this last week When i turn the Sky Glass on, on a morning it comes up with the usual page, i go to put a channel on and it says Channel loading then says technical fault after a few mins. 

 

Internet is all working and hasnt changed. 

 

If i take the plug out and plug it back it it seems to then work but has gone blank screen with sound a few times. 

 

Has there been a recent update which is making it do this?

I had the same issue on my Gen Two a couple of days ago. 

 

I spoke to Sky Technical who talked me through a hard reset of the device. Touch wood, the issue hasn't reoccurred since doing that, so you may need to do that. 

 

I did find it quite frustrating to speak to them because they were insistent it was an internet error at first until they understood that it couldn't be because if it was I'd lose the picture and sound, not just the picture. 

 

It happened a handful of times using various apps on the TV.

Same happened to me earlier this week and is happening again now. Can't turn on any channels. No internet issues. Sky Go works fine on my computer. This seems to have started after they "fixed" the sound sync issues.

No, have you tried  unplugging  the tv from the mains for a while  and  see if that works, don't  do a factory reset without  talking  to sky as this will cause more problems  for you,

Yep, unplugged, reset tried, worked for 5 minutes then same again.

I had an issue a couple of days ago with the screen going black but could still hear the programme playing. 

 

I spoke to Sky Technical who talked me through a hard reset, which touch wood, has sorted the issue. You may need to do the same.

I have the same issue, it's happened every morning this week.  When I turn the TV on it just says 'waiting for programme to load ,then just stays blank.  I unplug the TV, wait, plug it back in then a channel will come up.  Sometinmes after a few minutes I have to do the same process again.  I thought I would try to kick the TV into life by going to Netflix, I can sign into Netflix and select a programme but I'm told my device is not working and I need to power off the TV.

 

My interenet is fine, I have reset the network on the TV and rejoined but still get the same problem.  Has there been a recent update that has amended settings?  

 

I have had Sky Glass for a number of years now and become less enamoured almost every day.

Check in the settings that Networked Standby Mode is ON and Overnight power saving is set to OFF.

 

It has been known in the past for updates to sometimes reset these settings

It must be an update failure because mine is the same. I've worked out how to reset without having to unplug which is a lifesaver but it should come to that. 

 

I can't get on apps either just the circle of doom until it's reset.

I'm also having this issue with a restart it's ok for 5 minutes then does it again
