Issues with fast forward

While watching a program and we are behind , when the adverts come on we fast forward through the ads but the program catches itself up to live tv and we then cant rewind it again to where we were at. Is this a common issue or is just our tv thats up the creek?

It may be time to breakup with YouTubeTV 

I've had YouTubeTV for about a year.  Mandatory  "sponsored ads" just started tonight on mine and im peeved. They don't show  'sponsored ads" for  one specific commerical block - they show ALL sponsored ads since the program began I am watching a show that has lots of commercial breaks in the second half of the show. 20 minutes of the 23 minutes has been nothing but sponsored advertisements. 

AND, YouTube TV will make you watch all sponsored ads again  if your big dog accidentally hits the very sensitive rewind arrow on the Apple Remote
