No disrespect but you are not grasping fundamental business plans. It isn't about income or turnover but the profit/loss on the Balance Sheet.

You could turnover £20 billion with an operating loss of £5 billion or you cut the loss making sections turnover £10 billion with a £3 billion profit.

I know which I'd go for!

Very true indeed and seeing as stream doesn't cloud record there isn't really much of one if you can get Freeview in terms of content as you can access BT Sport/Viaplay/Disney+ Prime Video on Apple TV and has a playlist as well for majority of it. Suppose you lose out on free Discovery Plus with NOW way and free Paramount Plus with Sky Cinema

I don't actually think it would be much competition for Stream because IMHO, for most people, NOW is seen as an add-on, not a full service provider. The vast majority of people I know who 'have Sky' still have Sky Q, and those that have a NOW sub use it as an occasional addition to Freeview HD, to watch some sport or an occassional event series like White Lotus or Succession. 

Sky's current trend of tip-toeing around the issue that satellite is dead, long live the Stream puck, is clearly about switching from Q to Stream as a full TV delivery service - all channels in one place, apps,  playlists, etc. That's the key difference. 

I don't think adding UHD/HDR to NOW will damage Stream sales much, if at all. It's still relatively niche, at least amongst most of my friends/family/neighbours. Most NOW subscribers I know don't even bother with Boost - it's 720P all the way baby! 

A top level tier of Boost would allow those few that want it to get what they want. Those that want the full TV service can stick with their Stream pucks and Q boxes. Simple.

The latest version of the NOW app on Apple TV is really good, only about 6 years in the making, but they got there in the end!

Even without I will be extremely tempted. Is it smooth changing channels from that image?

It is yes because of the performance of the hardware.

But don't jump Apple is different, like Stream after Q they are chalk and cheese.

It's incredibly smooth. Everything about the app is faster, slicker and just plain better than the Stream and Q UI. It's one of the speediest and quickest apps I've seen recently. Even the live subtitles work well.

Probably best not to harp on about the smooth performance of a (finally) decent app on quality hardware like this, otherwise they will go back and compromise it in some way!

I used Now on Apple TV before I went for Sky Glass. 

We didnt get along so went to Q due to a deal offered.

I really dont like 18 month contracts and if they have 'fixed' some of the things I thought were missing I think my mind could be made up to go back.

Have you used Apple with the new TV Launcher? It's a one off £4.99 you link your apps iplayer, itvx. Now etc. it's a game changer.

Not sure how I got Discovery+ free just logged in and it worked no subscription.

Apple+ is free like Sky.

I got Discovery+ free with Sky Q a couple of years back. I still seem to have access to it now because my current Stream subscription says I haven't activated it yet and keeps asking me if I want to add it. It runs well on my ATV box (and on my mum's TV app, hundreds of miles away... ssshhh!) 

Apple TV+ is a subscription service (£6.99pm) like Netflix or Disney+ but if you activated the free 6 month offer from Sky when you had Stream then that will carry on for the full 6 months on your Apple ID on any device, even after you've cancelled Stream.
