I recently bought Sky Glass tv but after I installed it I found out that I no longer have access to Al Jazeera and many other channels that I previously had

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Lemmy1 There is a channel list for Sky Glass that shows which channels are on Glass/stream and which are not. https://www.sky.com/help/articles/tv-channel-list-sky-glass
Al Jazeera is one of the channel who have chosen not to be on Glass (they do have a youtube feed). The channel is not "lost" as it was never on the Glass/stream platform.
A basic search prior to getting Glass would have provided you this info.

Unfortunately Glass is unlikely to be a suitable platform for your viewing requirements: there's no guarantee any particular channel will choose to be distributed that way.

I was disappointed to find Al Jazeera not on Sky Glass, also Talking Pictures. I do miss them.
A few disappointments with this product. Hit and miss with sub titles, which I rely on due to hearing loss, though the sound quality is good, better than our previous tv. Other glitches include switching itself on or off, not always responding to voic3 control, frequent need to reboot.
We wanted it to go on the wall without trailing cables and boxes that nee shelves or other housing. It works well for that but I think future development will improve on performance.

Note that the current Glass hardware was released in October 2021, and is now about as 'developed' (through software updates) as it's ever likely to be.
We find that by having the 'enhancements' switched off and connecting over ethernet then performance is tolerable.
