I have just bought sky glass and when the picture is a dark colour say watchinga film i get shadowin

Just bought sky glass and when the picture in say like a film or program the dark colours look like shadowin and pixels, trying to get a engineer booked online but they keep telling me to run same tests which don't help, please help me sort the picture quality or how to get a engineer

There are no engineers ..... if you have showing it's either down to a slow / inconsistent internet speed or you have a defective set. 

If the set is new then it will be covered under warranty. Your best action would be to call sky if you need a warranty replacement

Sky Glass uses a pretty basic LED backlit VA-type LCD panel. If you have the contrast & brightness turned up high then it will highlight poorly encoded content a lot more. Dark scenes will show up low bit-rate encoding a lot more, manifesting in lots of grey blocky shading which can jump around in a distracting manner when there's movement in the image. 
If you watch Glass at an angle, not straight on, the colours will also fade & go milky - this is the downside of VA-type LCD panels.. 
The picture quality on Glass is always going to be just OK at best, or pretty good maybe if you feed it some decent high bit-rate 4K BluRay content via HDMI. Brightly lit live sports in UHD HLG HDR show it off well (because that's what Sky spend their money on) but a lot of mainstream TV shows can look quite poor, especially those with lots of dark scenes. 
If picture quality is a priority for you then an OLED TV with a Stream puck attached will give you a much better experience.

Agreed. Normal smart TVs get discounted every year when a new model is released. Sky Glass is nearing its third birthday, hasn't had the hardware updated at all and has actually increased in price over that period. 
There are plenty of much better quality, much more flexible and much cheaper smart TV's on the market. 
If you've only just got it and are within 31 days of activation you can return it for a full refund.

See if I return sky glass if they can't sort my picture quality from shadowing and pixles do they return the full 1159£ into your bank even if you are paying it monthly on finance, plus can anyone tell me why when watching frew my firestick it doesn't let me use my volume buttons so I have to use the sky volume buttons, thanks for any information

I have a firestick 4K max and on initial setup the firestick asked me to choose a tv remote. On that list is "sky". Choosing this enables the firestick remote to control the volume

They're not going to refund you for a TV you've not actually paid for yet if you're paying on finance. You'll get a refund of anything you have actually paid so far, once the TV has been returned & graded. So make sure you take photos of it (front & back) to show its condition before it's collected by the courier.

Thanks the people who tried to help me with my picture quality, ive contacted sky glass and they said the ghosting on dark colours and wee blocks jumping around the dark scenes should not be happening even if ime watching at a angle which someone said ithat happens, I thankfully got a fellow Scotsmen who has glass soo hes arranged for a swap to another glass as he suspects a faulty panel so I hope on Thursday its a better set they send, only trouble ime a bit confused with is the factory resetting do I take my firestick out first then attempt it or leave it in &can anyone tell me how to factory reset as some apps have my email and password, thanks for any help.

The factory reset will not affect your Firestick. Performing a factory reset from the Glass settings menu will wipe all your email/password logins from the apps on Glass only.

It doesn't matter really. I'd say remove the Firestick right before you do the factory reset on the TV because once you start it you won't be able to access the HDMI ports without re-activating and re-linking the TV to your Sky account again. So use your Firestick as normal right up until the night before the collection of your Glass TV, then remove it and start the factory reset. It doesn't take long.
