Discovery+

Does anyone else get an error code when trying to purchase Discovery+


Error code - MySky_2306

 

Any solutions welcome

We continue to work on this problem and will post back when we have a further update.  This problem will impact Discovery+ and Paramount+

Having the exact same issues. Just spent 45 minutes on the phone with sky support who gave up as well. Tried software resets, updates and same error code. Sky support said it 'must be an issue with discovery+' but had no solution.

im still error 2306 - Have created account via discovery+ app but can't purchase via MySky.... 

 

The fact it's now advertised as free on the home screen is really annoying!

Sorry to hear you're having problems.

 

Can I ask if you have more than once device ie a Sky Glass and Stream, or more than one stream, do you get the same problem on the other device?

Hi Kevin,

 

I have 1 Glass and 1 stream puck both linked to sky account.

 

Unfortunately bith have the same issue when trying to 'purchase' Discovery+ via sky marketplace - As before error MySky_2306

 

I have switched both units off and allowed to restart - Both accessed marketplace from My Sky link at bottom of Home Screen, have also tried to access via Discovery+ window at top of Home Screen, have also tried voice command.....

 

All get stuck at same point I'm afraid - The error page I'm guessing is coming up instead of allowing us to input bank card details?

 

I have no bank card saves in the Sky Store and no way to input one without creating an additional purchase like Movies or paramount+

I can't see any other wAy to create the purchase.

 

Separaretly I have created a discovery+ login straight through the app but when I go to watch any content I need to upgrade my subscription which links back to Sky and not being able to process it and in turn the 2 systems linking

Hi. I have exactly the same problem. After trying to complete the purchase using the confirm button the display shows that

 

"something went wrong but we're working on this. Please try again later.  MYSKY_2306"

 

It has been the same for 2 days now, I contacted support and was told it would be passed to another team, but sadly there has been no progress so far.

I would have thought that as this is a Sky option to have Discovery+ the use of the app and sign up would have been tested extensively before release but this appears to not have been the case.

Let's jape it will be sorted soon.

Kevin,

 

I separately attempted to purchase paramount+ via sky marketplace - Only wanted to force the system to save my bank card in the marketplace so that it might then push through the transaction for Discovery+

 

Coincidentally paramount+ wouldn't go through either and had the same error code - MySky_2306

 

Defo think there's a connection the fact we have no bank card present

 

Not sure if there's a plan to add the option to do this via the MySky app?? Could also be easier to add Discovery+ onto the app aswell like BT/Netflix/Movies etc

Thanks for providing further information.

 

Our support teams are working on a fix. They can't give me a timescale at the moment, however when I have more information/solution, I'll post here.

 

EDIT: Just so you know, you don't need to save card information for this or paramount plus. You'd only need to do that for Disney+ where there's a cost involved.

Sky advertise two systems Discovery and Paramount both can't be accessed by significant amounts of customers.Pretty sloppy.Now it can't be solved by 😂

What's the update with customers who can't access Discovery+ and Paramount Plus??

 

Its all linked back to Skys marketplace - As the purchase of either app can't be confirmed then the accounts can't be linked so it's 'free'

 

Can these not be manually linked between Sky and Paramount/Discovery?

 

Im also not seeing any 'compensation' for a lack of service everyone is paying for

I think it's understandable that sometimes things go wrong with software but the frustration here is the complete lack of urgency or information from Sky. It feels as though someone had the idea it would be great marketing to make these apps free to use but couldn't be bothered to actually test them first or to provide a reliable pathway to resolving any issues that would arise. For myself it has been 4 days now. I think a child could have rewritten an app that works in that time.

Totally agree - I'm over a week on Discovery+ even though it's plastered all over my top rail that I should be getting it for free

 

Tonight is just the icing on the cake that I can't get Paramount yet Sky will happily take £11 yet not provide the full service....

I reported the error code on Saturday 21st Jan. Lady I spoke to at Sky tried all sorts at her end and all sorts at my end but still not allowing me access to Discovery+. In the end, the advisor sent me a link on my mobile to contact Discovery directly to see if they can help me. Not done it yet, but I shouldn't have to when I pay Sky.
