Just moved home amd we now have Skyglass, previously on Sky Q. Gradually unpacking all the boxes, decided to attempt to setup the dvd. Its a Panasonic DMR- E55 player/recorder but we only use for playback. I have connected to HDMI#3 and activated the older appliance mode. Player is connected with a mini AV2HDMI transfer box and then to HDMI#3 socket on the TV. However, TV does not appear to be able to see the player.
Does anyone out there have any suggestions please before I call Sky?

That's a very old DVD player/recorder. It's likely that it pre-dates any copy protection requirements that Sky Glass now has.
It's probably time to invest in a new BluRay Player. They're pretty inexensive these days and are backwards compatible with DVD's as well as BluRays. If you get a 4K BluRay player then you'll be able to play 4K discs too.
