How do I find out what the cost implications are. Surely as a current sky user I don't pay the full price as its extortionate?

Whole Home's standard price is £13/month but you may be able to get some decent discounted offers during the Black Friday sale for it.
Additional pucks typically have a one time £39.95 fee, however on some occassions Sky waive this fee for the first additional puck that is ordered.

You can call on 150 from a Sky Talk Line or Sky Mobile.
If you haven't got a current Sky Mobile or Sky Talk this link should help:
https://www.sky.com/help/home Scroll down and click on ‘Need more help’ and it provides a 0333 number. If you are in the ROI on the same link change the flag in the very bottom corner to the ROI flag to obtain an 0818 number.
