25% price increase 2months into contract
Hi,
In August I had sky Stream+skySport+Broadband contract ending.
Broadband was going to be 250% more expensive so I switched that to Vodafone and and made a new sky TV contract:
Netflix Premium
18 Sep - 17 Oct£8.00- In Contract Ultimate TV Pack 3GBP Off for 24 Months - UK Customer
Sky Ultimate TV - Sky Entertainment with Netflix
18 Sep - 17 Oct£31.00 -£3.00 ==> £28.00 - In Contract Sky Sports 2GBP Off for 24 Months - UK Customer
Sky Sports including Sky Sports+
18 Sep - 17 Oct£30.00 -£2.00 ==> £28.00
This week (about 6weeks into new contract), guy calls me, ask if aware of price increase... something like 80£ he said (maybe more but no less, so 25% more). I was not aware...
But thank god he can help me, drops Netflix to std, adds sky cinema, all for 64£.
Claims he increased value while reducing price.
I don't care about sky cinema, and i don't want advert in netflix while loosing 4K and surround sound... So in my opinion I only got screwed.
He pressured me to take this: would not send me this by email for me to check later, would not call me back next day, was right here, right now or +25% next time...
What is the contract for if they can raise +25% after 2months!?
Really fedup with SKY.
Calling them now, but wanted community opinion on this..
Regards
Laurent

For UK subscription the in-contract price rise occurs in April, and has historically been based on the official rate of CPI the preceding December (so nowhere near 25%). I suspect what you were on the end of was dubious sales tactics.

Re: 25% price increase 2months into contract
I called and asked explanations about this 25% increase I was told about the 19/09: No explanation... to that person I spoke with today there was not price increase on the horizon other than in April.
The person said, I was called by someone "outside the sky team", a "contractor" I suppose. He said that person should have left notes about this 80£/m but there was nothing...
So indeed, it sounds like I was the victim of someone desperate to improve his statistics.
