This thread started in 2021, still no answer.
Watching itv4 Tour de France highlights, Friday, subtitles at top of screen, obscuring the race information, Saturday back down bottom of screen, Monday back at the top?

Just realized I missed the three year anniversary of my post about the placement and size of subtitles and of @DaveAccess saying it's under investigation. I did watch BakeOff to see how to bake an anniversary cake but couldn't see much because the subtitles got in the way 😞

Except it's now 2025 and there has been no change and the very large subtitles are right in the middle of the screen. Sky's excuse of it being down to individual broadcasters is jobsworth and surely can be overcome with a bit of beard scratching. Sky is clearly a company that doesn't really care.

It has nothing to do with individual broadcasters. If you watch BBC through Virgin the subtitles are small and at the bottom of the screeen, they even move in accordance with what is on screen at the time, almost interactively. SKY overlays the subtitles on other broadcasters contet, simple as that. It's just like the old saying goes "if you have time and money, I can put you in the moon" SKY has both!!!!!
