Elderly not understanding

Hi has anyone had problems with elderly relatives not understanding how Sky works, who doesn't have nor use the internet, has tried to speak to someone on the phone but doesn't understand the person, the relative gets so frustrated they give up and now they have lost all thier favourite program because neither the relatives nor the person on the phone can understand each other, yes I have tried this myself just keep getting fob off

What issue is the relative having with their Sky+ box ?

They can no longer get channel 410 speedway

Channel 410 is TNT Sports 1 so what is happening so do they see an onscreen message and if so what does it say ?

@Mickey48 Channel 410 which was once Eurosport and covered the speedway ceased broadcasting on the 28th February 2025

the speedway coverage will now be part of the TNT sport package ( channels 410 411 413 414) which requires an additional subscription

From the channel you mention, that would have been Eurosport.

On February 2025, the Eurosport channels ceased and all the sports content is now only available on TNT.

The decision to close the Eurosport channels and transfer content to the TNT sports channels was made by the channel’s parent company Warner Brothers Discovery. 

This was discussed in full a few months ago on here.

You can get the above either by signing up for about £30/month directly with Discovery + or by subscribing to the TNT Sports channels as part of your Sky package ( as this will upgrade your included Discovery + subscription from Basic to Premium).

Unfortunately it's just not financially viable to distribute minority sports coverage on non-subscription platforms, and these days there's always going to be an internet component to a subscription service.
