Dementia help
Despite elderly dad having a super tv with lots of apps for tv he can't understand them so he is using his old Sky box & controller to access freeview, we don't have a sky package, he wants one but doesn't want anyone to his home ??) dementia) Is there a way we can install ourselves. It seems a silly q but would love him to access more tv, at present he just uses the up and down keys .. he can't fathom out the apps .. he doesn't have a sky dish. I'm really not technical lol but any advice appreciated

Re: Dementia help
Sky Stream would be the best option for your father. I'd suggest you or someone he trusts does the set-up for him, it also comes with a voice activated remote, so if your father wants to watch BBC One for example, he can press the microphone button and BBC One will display on his tv from the main menu. I'd suggest setting up the favourite channels also, so he can press 1 for BBC One, 2 for BBC Two etc
Hopefully that option isn't too complex for your father?

Re: Dementia help
Sky have made older Sky boxes obsolete, and Sky Q requires and engineer visit so the only option would be Sky Stream via an Internet connection has can be setup by the customer, but this also uses apps 😞
If he has no dish then a Sky box would not work, also Freeview is supplied via a terrestrial aerial so also would not come via a Sky box

Re: Dementia help
Research Stream fully before committing. It's totally different to satellite TV viewing.
