Care home help please

Hi Apologies for any errors I'm visually impaired.

My mother has dementia & is going into a care home. Well, she moved in on Wednesday.

We've closed her account at home to try & save her money.

Sky accessibility team have in all honesty been marvellous.

I phoned for advice as my mum is familiar with sky.

I can no longer enter her property due to psycho family.

So have to buy my mum a new tv.

I need to be able to set up her favourite channels & use an accessible remote.

When I phoned sky, at first they refused to give her a new tv package I was asking about Sky Glass.

They refused because they said she was terminal.

Yes, she is very unwell & elderly but all of us could die at any time & she loves watching tennis & hasn't specifically been told she has a certain amount of time left.

The lady spoke to her manager & they agreed they could sell her sky glass tv.

We are going to currys tomorrow to buy her a tv. So that she has something for now.

The care home has, well, one my tablet the mbps was 100 & on my phone it was 30 & fluctuating.

So I assume the signal is strong enough for sky glass.

Do I just buy a sky glass tv then phone sky & set up a new sky account in her name.

I have power of attorney.  Sky have spoken to me throughout everything. Again they've been marvellous.

I just want to make sure I'm doing the right thing.

I've looked at now tv but dont think it will be accessible enough.

She knows the sky remote. She knows the favourites ive set up. 1 is tennis. 2 is news etc

I just want to make sure I'm doing the best thing for my mum.

Im not even sure i can just go to currys & buy one.

Help please

Many thanks

Accessibility sky glass

Hi

My mum is in a care home, she has sky glass.

Thankfully it works brilliantly, however my mum can't navigate the home menu.

We switch the TV on & it goes straight to the menu, is there any way it can go straight to the last channel she watched please?

I've written her instructions but she forgets to read them.

Thanks
