Accessibility Remote - Infrared or Bluetooth
Does the accessibility remote use bluetooth or infrared control for managing the Sky Q main and mini boxes? I do understand it does not have voice control.
Thanks

Re: Accessibility Remote - Infrared or Bluetooth
They still use Bluetooth and Infrared like the standard remotes.

Re: Accessibility Remote - Infrared or Bluetooth
Well I've had Sky Q + 2 mini boxes installed today and it seems all 3 of the accessibility remotes are not using bluetooth. If I try to use the remote without line of sight, it does not work.
I've tried re-pairing with the TVs (7 + 9 and hold till light blinks 4 times etc.) but still no go.
How do I get these remotes to work via Bluetooth?

7 + 9 unpairs the remote.
It's 1 + 3 to pair the remote.

Re: Accessibility Remote - Infrared or Bluetooth
I pressed 7+9 to reset the remote and then 1+3 to re-pair. But all that does is take me to the dialogue to set the TV code. Once done it needs line of sight to work both TV and Sky box.
I therefore tried one of the standard remotes (not the touch version). Now when I try to set this up it first tells me to press 1+3, at which point it confirms it has been set up as Bluetooth. I then follow the dialogue to set the TV code and all works fine.
If the Accessibility remote is Bluetooth, then how is it set up? It seems to me it isn't bluetooth-capable.

Re: Accessibility Remote - Infrared or Bluetooth
Just spoken to the Sky engineer who installed our Q system, and he confims that these remotes do not support Bluetooth.

The standard Sky Q remote can operate purely in infra red mode. Just press 4 + 6 together for several seconds.
