iPhone calendar not updating fixture changes

It appears that changes made to my football teams fixtures have not updated in my iPhone calendar. Some fixtures in March have moved for tv coverage, but calendar still showing original date and time. Why?

Re: iPhone calendar not updating fixture changes

Thanks for asking the question! I've been thinking it's just me. I had a similar problem last year when all fixtures disappeared. Can't recall how it was resolved sadly.

I've been waiting for a game, initially scheduled for Friday 7th Feb, to be rescheduled. I knew when it was rearranged for, but my Calendar wasn't updating. Since then, another 2 games have had minor adjustments on them, and these aren't updating either. I have unsubscribed tonight and subscribed again, still not working. I did contact Sky via X last week. They tried to subscribe themselves, and claimed it worked. I don't think they read the details I gave them.

Here's something to try. Search for Sky football fixtures and your team. You'll get a full list of home, away, cup games, etc. At the top of the screen towards the right, there's a button that says Sync To Calendar . Select that, there's a drop-down of all fixtures, and you'll notice the date/time is as originally set, even though the first page has the update showing. There's a break between what's displayed and the updates sent to Calendars, and I couldn't get the team to understand that.  I'm trusting there's been a system change their end, and nobody has noticed there's an error/break in the link.

I might have another go this week. There's no point in them providing the service if it doesn't work.

Re: iPhone calendar not updating fixture changes

Well, I’ve tried again this morning. I’ve spoken to my husband, a technical bod who wrote software many years ago, who suggested trying to download the fixtures to his Google Calendar (I have to use this method to get my Ical to share the info with my Android phone). This was after I’d been reassured, again, that everything is working fine Sky’s end. So fresh download onto a recently updated iMac, times /dates are still incorrect. What was funny was that the times this thread has been read went up by one during my chat with the Sky agent. It is my opinion that they are not reading the details of my problem. I am very clear, very specific as to which fixtures are not updating, that I believe the update comes from the Sync To Calendar option, and I can see it is incorrect there.

I am disappointed I can’t get the message across. I’ve worked through 2 live debugs on scheduling / repair monitoring systems, so have a reasonable background looking for where the source information comes from, and from experience, it’s very easy to overlook a source, not be aware it’s there, any number of reasons why. It seems I can’t solve this one, so will be going Old School for the remainder of the season.

Thank you @DaveOrt for asking the question, so I know it isn't just me.

Re: iPhone calendar not updating fixture changes

Thanks for all your efforts. I get frustrated with Sky, they don't help and dismiss it as someone else's fault. I'm leaving it now, am it will be fixed somehow. I suppose Sky will increase their fees shortly. Poor

Re: iPhone calendar not updating fixture changes

Hi Janice MD. I went into my Apple calendar, fixtures still not correct, so I googled 'Skysports Leicester', clicked on scores and fixtures, at the top of the screen there is an option to sync to calendar, so I went back into my calendar, clicked on one of the fixtures, unsubscribed, so all fixtures disappeared, then went back to sync to calendar, and hey presto, all fixtures now correct for the rest of the season. Hope you are able to do the same.

Re: iPhone calendar not updating fixture changes

Thanks @DaveOrt ! I bit the bullet & deleted the calendar in my ICal, then went through the reload process as you describe, and it's worked for me too. Now I just need to get my Calendars to speak to each other, and we're home & dry! It did do a funny thing, the fixtures appeared & went again..... strange, but it's sorted to a manageable level now. Thanks for persisting and replying 👍

Re: iPhone calendar not updating fixture changes

Hi @DaveOrt . Noticed another oddity recently....... Now all my April & May fixtures are showing as 2pm kick off instead of 3pm......🙄. I'm trusting this will correct itself once the clocks go forward at the end of March....? Seriously considering a different source for my fixtures next season 😡. However, I have noticed that I can edit each fixture now where I hadn't been able to previously 🤷🏼‍♀️.
