Sky sports app not showing live video

Have got the Sky sports app on my I phone.  Previously I could watch live football, golf and cricket etc on my phone.  Did a app update last night, app is working fine except I can no longer watch any live sports.  I have deleted and reinstalled the app, I have turned off the phone and turned it back on, deleted my account and signed back in and still cannot watch any live sports. 

I can watch live sports through the Sky spots app on my laptop and on the phone through the Sky+ app which is about to be shut down at the end of May.

The process that I go through is: Open Sky sports app / LIVE / Channels / message comes up Video Unavailable, Try Later, and a button RETRY.

Press RETRY same message comes up.

Anyone experiencing the same problem or has a solution?

On my iphone the process is slightly different:

Sky Sports App > Watch > Live > Channels

So have you tried this instead ?

Not sure what you mean here as you can not watch a live channel via the Sky+ app but you can via the Sky Go app so have you tried this as it should work on your iphone.

Yes I go through the process you listed, I just missed "watch".

I cannot watch live sports when using the Sky Sports app on my phone.

However I can watch live sport on my phone if I use the Sky+ app 

It is a nuisance having to use the Sky+ app which is a bit more long winded if changing channels.

I think you mean the Sky Go app because as I said above you can't use the Sky+ app to do anything other than set remote recordings and downloads.

I'm not sure why this app isn't working for you so are you and I running the same version, mine is 8.34.0.

Sky Go app I can only record a program.

Sky+ app I can definitely either watch or record a program.

My version of the Sky Sports app is the same as yours.

You can watch a program on Sky Go so if you are trying to watch live tv from the TV Guide make sure "watch on this device" is selected at the top of the guide.

You can not watch live tv via the Sky+ app so I think you are getting your apps in a muddle as the app doesn't have this option built in it.

Thanks for your explanations. I have not got my apps mixed up.

This is the second time this has happened to me after updating the Sky  Sports app, resulting in me not being able to watch live action on it.

Last time the live action returned after a few weeks so I guess I will just have to wait my time.

I think I know what you mean so are you using the watch button on the Sky+ app to watch the channel back via your tv , if so the app itself is acting like a remote so yes you are correct that functions like this might stop working at the end of May.

Exactly the same with me. Was half way through watching a football machine and suddenly had a message saying unavailable try later.
