Does this mean if you no longer have access to the Sports reward tab, that any sports competition entries submitted  are no longer valid?

@Jassy1

If you have already entered something then your entry is still valid until the draw is made.

Re: Sky VIP Sports Tickets menu missing

Does that mean that, going forward, sports tickets on SKy VIP ill only be for Sky Sports customers?

Re: Sky VIP Sports Tickets menu missing

@Tuffers Already answered but yes, just as Vue tickets are only for Cinema subscribers, sport tickets will only be for Sports subscribers.

It is. The sports rewards came back in the Sky VIP section of the My Sky app earlier this month.

Re: Sky VIP Sports Tickets menu missing

I have to say this is very disappointing and feels a little sneaky from Sky; anything but making existing customers feel VIP...

Except it's making Sky Sports customers feel more valued, just like the free Vue tickets and Paramount+ subscription make Sky Cinema customers feel more valued. Personally, I think the changes make complete sense, as it's more likely a Sky Sports subscriber would be interested in sports tickets and sports-related perks than a customer who didn't subscribe to Sky Sports.

Also, not sure about sneaky as Sky did publish a press release about the changes to Sky VIP: https://www.skygroup.sky/en-gb/article/millions-of-sky-customers-set-to-enjoy-even-bigger-rewards-as...

Re: Sky VIP Sports Tickets menu missing

I have to say I disagree with the logic that sports customers will enjoy sports opportunities more, merely that they can afford the additional subscription costs.

i can only speak for myself obviously but I was not made aware of this press release personally. Therefore for me it feels sneaky and therefore disappointing.

Re: Sky VIP Sports Tickets menu missing

I have to agree with @Cjr16z. This excerpt from the press release seems to suggest existing customers will continue to benefit from existing rewards plus more! I also don't think you can compare entries to sports tickets competitions to free cinema tickets as:

a. The former is not guaranteed, the latter is.

b. Free Vue cinema tickets have only ever been a Sky Movies reward. Entries to all competitions have always been available to  all Sky customer

c. Shouldn't all competitions be treated the same?
In my humble opinion this is a big step back as not only can I no longer just subscribe to Sky Cricket anymore (now have to subscribe to full Sky Sports at much greater cost) but can no longer enter competitions that I've been able to enter for 2+ decades.
Perhaps if Sky really want to reward loyalty they should scale their rewards according to how many decades customers have been with them!

Re: Sky VIP Sports Tickets menu missing

The excerpt:

Sky is relaunching its hugely popular VIP loyalty programme, now bigger, better and packed with over 3 million rewards and experiences for customers across the UK this year. Available to all Sky customers via the My Sky app, the revamped Sky VIP programme offers more perks than ever before - from weekly treats, to shopping savings, epic sports rewards and unforgettable experiences.

With millions of customers already enjoying exclusive benefits on Sky VIP, the upgraded programme is designed to offer even more value, with exciting new rewards added regularly. The longer customers stay with Sky, the better the rewards become – including personalised perks tailored to the products and services they have.

Sports section on VIP

So the Sports section on Sky VIP is now only available for Sky Sports subscribers it seems.

Massively disappointed by Sky and a real kick in the teeth for us customers who have been loyal for years, just because I don't subscribe to Sky Sports.

Very poor.

Re: Sky VIP Sports Tickets menu missing

Now that the sports tickets have gone I have no interest in receiving the VIP emails. Fortunately you can unsubscribe from them. All I can say is that given the amount of money I throw at Sky every month this change is incredibly disappointing.

Re: Sky VIP Sports Tickets menu missing

As usual Sky not providing any loyalty to anyone that has stayed with them. So if I have stayed with Sky for 12 years but now don't have skysports I can no longer enter a competition unless I pay for skysports? Ridiculous as usual. One of the few benefits of sticking with sky is the chance to go to these events, no wonder everyone is leaving and I won't be far behind.
