Yet another downgrade from Sky. Prices go up and up, service goes down.
The web TV guide was a free extra so never affected the subscription cost

I didn't say it was. I was not looking for 'help'.
My point is that they have chosen to remove a useful tool despite the continuing price hikes. Customer satisfaction issue!

Maybe they removed it as they wanted to cut costs. There was a server behind it containing all the data. Maybe the server provider raised their prices and Sky were not willing to pay for it.
They've even removed some HD and +1 channels (e.g. Sky History on satellite) and channels with separate adverts for Ireland to save money. They probably are cutting back as much as they can, so the customer doesn't have their monthly bill raised higher than what is expected.
Also, in relation to the price hikes, this is more down to inflation, the cost of things, and the local and international markets, and with a certain golf-loving New Yorker with an unhealthy appetite for taxes 😉, prices have to go up to compensate, which are out of Sky's control.

Removing the webpage with the TV Guide on it is a backward step. I want to look up times of upcoming programs while the current program is being watched. I don't want to reduce the current picture to a small window while looking up later programs. Please bring this webpage back.

Re: Sky TV Guide Website https://www.sky.com/tv-guide/
It's fairly obvious why Sky have removed the feature, it's another attempt to kill off the non-SkyQ, Glass, Stream customers. It's just another inconvenience, whether deliberate or not, that will be thought by someone as a way to drive the customers towards the product they want to sell.
Ultimately when they de-camp from satellite and go entirely to streaming they want to have already removed the burden of switching.
Way back when they turned off the analogue service they slowly cut back what had been on there to force people's hands to pay for Sky Digital installs, though eventually the kit was given free to those who resisted long enough.

Re: Sky TV Guide Website https://www.sky.com/tv-guide/
I was on the verge of ditching Sky after my recent run-in with them. At that time I wasn't even fully aware of all the service restrictions they'd imposed (I've found that a number of channels will not record - they always FAIL. Nor can you use the Pause/Rewind).
It's no wonder Sky's subscriber base is declining, they are treating their long term loyal Customers like [Removed] They do not deserve our patronage.!

Sounds like your subscription isn't of a suitable tier or, more likely, the box has an issue. Have you tried the old, power lead out and hold down the back button on the box while replugging the lead - keeping it held until all the lights on the front panel illuminate?

Thanks for the tip.
I've now thried this twice but unfortunately to no avail. When I try to, say, pause or rewind, live TV, I just get a message saying that function is not avaiallbe and to call my provider (I.e. Sky)

If you are still using Sky+ or Sky+HD, please note that Sky has officially ended support for these devices. This may explain why you are unable to rewind or pause live TV. To regain these features, you may need to upgrade to Sky Q, or to Sky Glass or Sky Stream if you prefer those options.
Additionally, Sky has previously stated that subscriptions on Sky+ and older Sky Digiboxes would be automatically cancelled without incurring early termination charges, should the service become unsupported. Based on the limited information you have provided, it appears this may have occurred in your case.
However, if you are using Sky Q, Glass or Stream and are still experiencing issues, it is worth checking that your account is fully paid and up to date. If everything appears in order, you will need to contact Sky directly.
Please also be aware that if you are on the Sky Entertainment package with Sky Q, certain features such as live pause and rewind may no longer be available. To restore these functions, you may need to switch to the current Sky Signature package.
However, if you have a Sky Q, Glass or Stream and this is happening, check your bills and see if they are paid in full and if so, you will need to contact Sky. Also, you might be on Sky Entertainment (on Sky Q). This may not support these functions any more and you will need to change to the current subscription, which is Sky Signature.

Sky+HD boxes are not having refcording facilities disabled. The only boxes which Sky terminated the contracts for were the much earlier devices which are unable to display the SD channels broadcast in MPEG4 or HD channels. So any DRX89x box will work.
It's more likely the hard drive in the poster's ancient box has expired (it'll be at least 10 years old), so recording doesn't work.. The only solution is to upgrade to Q or Stream as Sky won't pair viewing cards with the legacy platform any more.

Re: Sky TV Guide Website https://www.sky.com/tv-guide/
Thanks to everyone for their comments.
My account is up-to-date and is for the correct package. This was checked with Sky customer services and again by their tech support.
Live pause and rewind works on some channels but not on others, so I don't think it's my hardware. I've determined that it is a subtle pairing problem which occurred when I replaced my old Sky+HD box when it's HDD failed, even Sky's Senior Tech Support (of 23yrs experience) couldn't resolve this issue.
I was offered a free upgrade to SkyQ but there was no guarantee that it would work (the miniboxes being too far away from the main box), and even to try it, I would not be able to roll back if it didn't work.
