In pay for sky sports via virgin media. Why is it not available on my Toshiba fire TV?

Sky apps are not available on every single platform in the world, it all boils down to whether it is financially viable or not

Well that are in a minority of 1? I can access all my other apps across both my hisense TV on virgin and my fire Toshiba TV ie netflix, Disney+, prime, paramount+, etc.. Why is sky sports the odd one out. I'm told I need to pay twice by using now TV? This is grossly unfair

Hi thanks for the reply. I don't have a fire stick. 

 I have a hisense TV with a virgin 360 downstairs and a 24 inch Toshiba fire TV upstairs. I can get all my apps etc across both systems except sky sports which I don't think sky allow on fire systems. evenl though I pay a subscription to sky spors via virgin I can't use that on my legitimate fire TV. In fact sky has no app on fire to subscribe to except  on now TV which is a separate and extra subscription. Virgin suggest I pay £10 extra a month for a 2nd box but I feel I shouldn't need to when all other apps works across both systems with no extra  charges?

Not really Sky's fault that you don't have the correct equipment to run their app

If it that important you could either obtain a device that can run the app that you can use on your TV or use this as an excuse to upgrade the TV in question to something that can run the app

Personally I would always recommend using separate devices as "Smart TV" have limited lifespans for apps/updates, I only use my TV as a dumb monitor with my Xbox providing the content. This has the benefit of disabling all the spyware that is built in to "Smart TVs"

Hi thanks. Yes I only use my fire TV as a 2nd bedroom TV and  my hisense is my dummy TV for my virgin 360..I have heard sky deliberately don't allow theirv channels to work on fire TV as so many People have  sideloaded illegal sticks.. Mine is legitimate so I feel I am being penalised for what others are doing? It still doesn't explain why all my other subscriptions work across both systems but not sky TV? And shut only Now TV is the only way of accessing sky sports on fire TV at and extra £30; per month... And they complain about people using illegal sticks. I am struggling as  a bonafide subscriber?
