It's not from Sky and it's not genuine. It's an attempt to scam you. There are no out of date versions of Sky Yahoo Mail.

Re: eMail received saying I need to update my mail box
That email isn't from Sky as it is a pishing attempt by scammers, so mark it as spam so it gets deleted and do the same should you be sent anymore and don't whatever you do click on the link and install anything.

Not if you didn't fill in any of your personal details. If you did, then change your password.

Re: eMail received saying I need to update my mail box
I'm getting these emails from various addresses to say my account will be closed & now I need to update my email version . This is happening almost daily. I mark them all as spam but it's daunting. How have they accessed my email

You're doing the right thing by marking them as spam. The scammer is very unlikely to have accessed your email account unless you've unwittingly disclosed your password. However, email addresses themselves aren't private and can be captured via your online activity and sold as marketing data.

Re: eMail received saying I need to update my mail box
They will not have accessed your account as it is more likely they are sending them to you in the hope you have a Sky email address as the chances are they will not if you have one or not.

Re: eMail received saying I need to update my mail box
I get them all the time and always mark them as spam. I do wonder why they always come into my inbox though. Why can't Sky recognise them as spam? The put lots of other rubbish straight into the spam folder.
