Two-Step verification

Hi.

Over the last few days, sky email (yahoo) keeps automatically sending me direct to setting up two-step verification. I keep cancelling it but it keeps automatically setting me up. I have phoned Sky & they have contacted Yahoo to take this off & can take up to 2 working days. It is so annoying!!! Does anyone else have this problem???

@Letti48 yes, it was reported here by another customer a few days ago. It appears now that it has been deemed mandatory by Sky to set up 2 step verification. Even if 2 step verification is removed you'll be prompted to set it up again when you next try to log in.

@Letti48

As @Mark39 has said you do need now to set this up so when you do it is really important that you make a note of the recovery code that you will be shown on screen as you eill need to use this if ever you change your mobile number.

@Letti48 Yahoo won't be able6 to do anything, I'm afraid, for a Sky Yahoo Mail account.

I'm afraid ne was mistaken, Sky's 2FA has nothing to do with Yahoo.

Re: Two-Step verification

I called Sky about this yesterday - they stated everything should come right in a couple of days.  I thought i was being hacked - having had this happened twice.  especially when it states "if you haven't requested it"   cant keep up with the constant changes some days  - dont know who to trust

@Letti48

That is because this is now mandatory when logging into Sky emails accounts so this will now happen going forward.

Re: Two-Step verification

It is doing it sporadically. I am getting through a few days without it asking for it & then it decides to ask for it one day & then it goes back to not asking???

It should be asking for the verification code each day you login, however when logging in if you tick the "Remember Me" option it should keep you logged in for 30 days but for this to work you must not logout.

Re: Two-Step verification

Exactly - perhaps the sky tech team should test app updates pre launch!
