Suspect email

I have received an email from Sky saying that I have been ignoring emials to upgrade my email account.  I do not recall having received these.  It says that if I do not upgrade,my email account will be deactivated and that they started doing so from 18th October.   Is this genuine or a scam?

It's not from Sky and is a widely reported attempt to scam you. There's no upgrade. Just mark it as spam, but otherwise ignore it.

Re: Suspect email

Thank you.  I thought it was.  When you say it is a widely reported scam, where has it been reported as I have not seen any warnings from Sky.  Thanks.
