Sky yahoo 6 digit authentication code text not receivied on iphone

Trying to log in to my sky yahoo email account. It has 2 factor authentication set up . Email address and password are being correctly entered along  with the correct mobile number for receipt of 6 digit code. However this code is never received. I can't remember my recovery code so cannot log in. I've tried various adjustments to the I phone, but none have allowed receipt of the code.

In your messaging app have a look in your spam folder for the verification text.

Did you not make a note of your recovery code as it advised you to do because if you didn't you will have to contact Sky and ask them to turn this off for you.
