Yep 100% scam. A genuine company would refer to a customer by name & not sky user & the email would contain your account number.

That email is from a scammer and not from Sky so mark it as spam and do the same should you receive anymore so it gets deleted or you can forward it to Sky f you want - abuse@sky.com
You would never need to update your Sky email account in the way this email wants you to.

Hello,
I too have recived this email. But I was not as vigilent and clicked on the link.
Please can I ask if anyone would be kind enough to give me some advice. Unfortunately emails appear to have been sent to everyone in my address book. However they do not appear in my sent folder. I only know because my neighbour knocked on my door to say he had received to message from me. The latest asking for money!
Any help greatfully received. Kind regards. Adrian.

The chances are somebody is sending these emails to make it look like they are coming from your account as sadly this is quite easy to do as all they need to do is to put your email address in the From box. The fact they are not in your send box pretty much confirms this this so there is very little you can do as they do usually stop doing this after a while.
As for your email account, if you are yet to do this then it it is worth changing your password which you can do here:

@AdrianBrighton the likelihood is your password will have been captured by the scammer, so do change it, as suggested, and if you're using the same password for other websites, consider changing it there too. Use a strong password with numbers, letters and special characters and avoid using a word that you would find in a dictionary. Try to use a different password for each site you log in to.

Useful information provided as I receive such emails regularly and always bin them but they do seem so genuine.

They try their best to make them look as real as possible but if you look closely at them there are usually me of two things that suggest they are from scammers like the address it has come from, spelling mistakes and how it is actually worded.

Unfortunately after receiving several of these emails, I fell into the trap and everyone in my dress book received hoax emails yesterday. I immediately changed my password but now when I open my emails I have nothing. App has changed to yahoo and all my sky emails have vanished. Please can someone explain how I get them back

@TACHE7 I would first log in via sky.com using your browser rather than use any app and check whether or not all your emails are actually missing. While you're there, check for any filters set up by the hacker to divert incoming emails to another email address - something they frequently do.
