Possible Phishing Email?

Received email on April 2nd supposedly from Sky about updating their Terms of Service Privacy Policy.

Said my mailbox had  Pending Email Sync Failure.

Also said Sky Yahoo mail server had blocked 7 incoming messages.

Then asked me to click on a link to View Update or Delete Pending Email Messages.

Link goes to a Sky Web Page ( or a good copy) asking me to reset my password.

Email was signed by UK Sky, One Yahoo UK, Redland, TCH 19

Is this a genuine email from Sky or a Scam?

If it is a Scam, what should I do, bearing in mind I clicked on the link.

I would say it was a scam email as Sky wouldn't ask you to click on a link.

If all you did was to click on it then you shouldn't have any issues but to be sure you might want to clear out all your web browsers cookies and cache.

Re: Possible Phishing Email?

Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately I did as requested and changed my Sky email account password.

Twigged something was up so went to the Sky website and changed it again this morning.

Any damage done?

You may have reacted quickly enough to stop any miscreant doing anything damaging. You might want to check that no filters have been set up diverting your new emails to another address - if you're still receiving emails, you should be ok. Be sure to use a strong password - letters, numbers and special chacters and not a word you can find in a dictionary.

Re: Possible Phishing Email?

Thanks v much for the advice.

V helpful indeed.

But surely I'm not the only person to have received this email yesterday - must be loads of us eh?

Will monitor my account over the next week or so to try and spot any unusual activity or changes to my personal details etc.
